Helen Mirren in The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover (Peter Greenaway, 1989)
Watching the film The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover (Peter Greenaway, 1989) I was delighted to see this very young and always lovely Alex Kingston.
There are a whole bunch of other great British character actors in small parts and it’s fun to see what they looked like 20 years ago, particularly a long haired, bearded, swoon worthy Cirian Hinds.
It’s strange and dark, but beautifully designed, and I definitely recommend it if you want to see Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) stab a lady in the face with a fork.
